La Vila Feliz, duplex holiday apartment

The 70m² duplex holiday apartment for rent here with fantastic sea views, two minutes from the sandy beach and in a traffic-calmed location is located in a 130-year-old fisherman’s house in the middle of the picturesque old town of Villajoyosa.

We share the renovated entrance area with two other neighbors. Our apartment was extensively renovated with great attention to detail in 2018 . We attached particular importance to preserving the charming basic character of the house. Partially exposed original stones in the outer walls, discreetly renovated vigas (roof beams) and different heights of the steps in the staircase underline this. The tiles in the Moorish-Spanish Mudejar style also contribute to the cozy atmosphere of the house.

Spacious, light-flooded rooms are very rare in the old fishermen’s houses of the casco antiguo. Thanks to the windowed exterior facade of the corner house, we were able to welcome the brightness of the south into our apartment.

The internal sliding doors on the first floor reinforce the open character of the apartment. Here is the bedroom ( el dormitorio ) with a double bed measuring 160x200cm and a hard, comfortable mattress, powerful air conditioning with a heating function in winter and an integrated reading and work area, where there is also a Smart TV flat screen on the wall. The faithfully restored stone wall, the two mirror cabinets, and the fine art pictures allow both day and night dreamers to relax…

The spacious feel-good bathroom ( el baño ) next door is equipped with an open shower (tropical shower) and free-standing bathtub as well as a towel dryer and hairdryer. You will find a sufficient number of towels in different sizes in the bathroom cupboard. However, we do not provide beach and bath towels. Please bring these with you! Toilet paper and soap are available for initial needs.

The open staircase takes you to the upper floor. You are now in the living room ( el salón) with a bookshelf and a sofa bed (sleeping area 110x180cm), which is suitable for two children up to 12 years or one (!) adult to sleep on. A fine selection of books on world literature as well as printed gems in Spanish and English await you here. An original wood stove and a small filled wine rack exude external and internal warmth. In addition to the comfortable sofa, you can play your favorite music via our sonorous Bluetooth music system. Of course, there is also WLAN/Wi-Fi for media emergencies ;-).

The folding table with bar stools, in the same Mediterranean blue as the roof beams, invites you to have a cozy coffee in between or a few tapas with a glass of wine.

Our duplex holiday apartment has a small but fully equipped kitchen ( la cocina ) on the upper floor with a ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, milk frother, a variety of pots, pans, casserole dishes and bowls as well as various glasses, including colorful wine and cocktail glasses. The basic set of spices available should also not go unmentioned. The washing machine with included tumble dryer function is also in the kitchen. Dishwashing liquid, dishwashing tablets, and detergent are available for initial needs.

On the integrated covered terrace with a small balcony, there is even a Weber grill available for you in addition to the comfortable rattan lounger and a pleasantly large dining area for four people!
